At UMA, we like to say, “Stay Close, Go Far.” That’s because with campuses in Augusta and Bangor and with University College Centers and Community Learning Sites across the state, one is never far from a UMA classroom.

Our Augusta Campus

Most UMA students attend classes on our beautiful Augusta campus. At the heart of the campus is a large central green, ringed by the Katz Library, classroom buildings, the eye-catching Human Rights and Holocaust Center, and Jewett Hall, home of the Danforth Art Gallery and a concert and performance auditorium.

Rounding out the campus green is our striking Student Technology Center. The hub for all student activities, the Student Center is where you’ll also find our café, bookstore, a state-of-the-art computer lab, and a great lounge for studying or just hanging out with friends.

A short walk from the campus green is Robinson Hall, UMA's one-stop student services center. Among the many offices you’ll find at Robinson Hall are Admissions, Financial Aid, the Dean of Students, the Registrar, and the Bursar. The Office of the President and Provost are also situated here.

Just up the road is the Farmhouse where more administrative offices are located. Nearby are some great nature trails, our playing fields, and the Augusta Civic Center, where the basketball teams compete and the fitness center is located.

Our Bangor Campus: UMA Bangor

Consisting of approximately 160 acres, the UMA Bangor campus has a distinctly spacious feel. Campus buildings are small and conveniently situated, with administrative offices and student services conveniently centralized in the recently renovated Lewiston Hall. The physical environment is both easy to negotiate and conducive to casual interaction, and includes a beautiful new library space, modern labs, student lounges, and its own fitness center.

Furthermore, UMA Bangor features small classes, close student-faculty relations and individualized advice and attention. Newcomers immediately feel welcome and adjust easily to the informal and friendly atmosphere.

University College Centers

Responsible for administering nine University College Centers and 56 community learning sites across the state. UMA coordinates most of the distance learning for the University of Maine System. With centers from York to Aroostook counties, University College Centers make a UMA education accessible to almost anyone, no matter where they live.
