How to Prepare a Bulk Mailing
- All bulk mailings must have at least 210 pieces. Each piece must be identical in weight and contents and must be sealed.
- The first line of the return address on all bulk mailings must contain the wording: UNIVERSITY OF MAINE AT AUGUSTA.
- The indicia (bulk mail permit imprint) must be in the upper right-hand corner.
- The contents of the bulk mailing must mention the University of Maine at Augusta (the bulk mail permit holder).
- If the mailing piece is folded, the fold must be on the bottom. The top of each piece must be closed using one or two seals or pieces of tape. No staples can be used.
- The bulk mailing must be placed in Zip Code Order (numerical). Please order your mailing labels in zip code order. While applying labels, keep the mailing in zip code order.
- Each different 3-digit (first 3 digits) Zip Code must be flagged. A flag can be a strip of paper inserted in front of each Zip Code or a Post-It note attached to the first item of a Zip Code.
- You must record the Zip Code on the flag.
- A note indicating the total number of pieces in the mailing and the chartfield to be charged for postage must accompany the bulk mail.
