BArch, Cornell University, 1994

Professor Hinkley graduated from Cornell University with a B.Arch in 1994, with awards in both design and outstanding achievement.  After working at architectural firms in Illinois, Massachusetts, and Maine, she moved to Waldoboro with her husband to raise their three boys and live on their family’s farm. A registered architect in Maine and Massachusetts, Professor Hinkley maintains a solo architectural practice in North Waldoboro. Projects have included work for Yale University’s Sustainable Food Project, several projects for the Chewonki Foundation in Wiscasset, and several residential and community projects.

Professor Hinkley’s interests in architecture center on building systems and construction methodology, as well as larger issues of landscape, site and community. She sees her vocations, both as an educator and as an architect, as existing beyond their own private scenarios, impacting a community much larger and far reaching.
