Commercial Drone School

 

student flying a droneUMA’s Aviation program recently unveiled Maine first done piloting course. The new specialized training takes place at UMA’s Commercial Drone School located on UMA’s Augusta campus. The program gives students have the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to be useful in an array of special projects such as land surveying, areal footage, search and rescue missions, and much more.

The course prepares students to pass the FAA Knowledge Exam for Remote Pilot Operator. Course material exposes students to the world of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) which includes sUAS flight training, and opportunities within aviation. Students are introduced to Unmanned Aircraft Systems both as a hobby and for commercial uses. No prerequisites are required.
