Thomas J. Giordano, CPA
Assistant Professor of Accounting
Tom earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Bentley College and his Master of Business Administration from Hofstra University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Maine.
His professional background includes working in corporate industry with GTE Sylvania; public accounting with the audit firms Arthur Andersen; and KPMG and in the government sector with the State of Maine.
Tom has been an educator at University of Maine at Augusta since the 1992 and teaches a variety of accounting and investment courses in UMA’s business program. He recently completed and presented a research study comparing student achievement and satisfaction in an Introductory Accounting course taught in three learning environments: a live, a blended and an online class.
Outside of his life at UMA, Tom writes, records and performs folk music in and around Maine. His other interests include snowshoeing in the winter, hiking in the summer and cooking all year long.
