Collectively, the Admissions Staff members bring over 100 years of experience working with applicants for admission. Here’s a brief synopsis of our Admissions/Enrollment staff:
Augusta Campus:
Gail Pelletier, Administrative Assistant – 207/621-3465, gailpell@maine.edu
Gail is our “front line” person who answers the phone, greets visitors, and processes application documents. If you call or visit Robinson Hall, where the Admissions Office is located, there’s a strong chance that you’ll speak with Gail. Gail also does some limited recruitment travel and assists with all of our outreach activities.
Kristen Duplessis, Administrative Associate – 207/621-3036, kolsen@maine.edu
Kristen acts as our office manager and manages many administrative duties including purchase orders and invoices. She processes all re-admit applications, deferrals, reactivations and withdrawals. Kristen is very knowledgeable about the entire application process at UMA.
Tristan Starbird, Admissions and Intake Associate – 207/621-3037, Tristan.starbird@maine.edu
Tristan is one of two primary admission counselors in Augusta. He reviews applications, meets with applicants, and assists prospective students with questions about the process. Tristan travels extensively during recruitment season; you’re bound to see him at a high school in Maine or a college fair. He is active in supporting the Athletics program at UMA and serves as assistant men’s basketball coach and assistant co-ed golf team coach.
Kelly Thibodeau, Admissions and Intake Associate – 207/621-3528, Kelly.thibodeau@maine.edu
Kelly is the other primary admissions counselor in our Augusta office. She reviews application and meets with applicants and prospective students. Kelly coordinates the awarding of Presidential and Osher Scholarships. Kelly does some recruitment travel and coordinates a number of outreach projects for the office.
Kathy Trask, Associate Director of Admission – 207/621-3140, trask@maine.edu
Kathy is responsible for the daily operation of the Admission Office and oversees all recruitment and review processes. She has a depth of experience in admissions unmatched at UMA. Kathy also coordinates the review of Nursing applications, one of our most selective programs.
Ariel Cassista, Administrative Assistant, Enrollment Services – 207/621-3350, ariel.cassista@maine.edu
Ariel coordinates the scanning and imaging of all admission documents, working with the entire staff and the UMS Shared Processing Center. She assists with many recruitment initiatives and supports the Dean of Enrollment Services/Director of Admission.
Jonathan Henry, Dean of Enrollment Services/Director of Admission – 207/621-3136, jhenry@maine.edu
Jon oversees all Enrollment Service functions at UMA including Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registrar, and Data Services. As Director of Admission, he works closely with staff in Augusta and Bangor to plan recruitment activities and ensure excellent service to our applicants.
University College of Bangor Campus:
Joan Stewart, Records Technician - 207/262-7800, jstewart@maine.edu
Joan is the primary receptionist and processor for the Admissions & Student Enrollment Services office at UCB. She handles a wide range of duties supporting student applications, bills, and financial aid needs.
Evelyn Hickey, Administrative Assistant - 207/262-7805, evelyn@maine.edu
Evelyn works at the “front desk” of the Admissions & Student Enrollment Services office. In addition to handling a wide range of student administrative matters, she is responsible for scanning application materials into our shared document management system.
Stephanie Graves, Admissions and Financial Aid Associate - 207/262-7802, graves@maine.edu
Stephanie is a primary admissions counselor at UCB. She reviews application and meets with applicants and prospective students. Stephanie coordinates application review for the Veterinary Technology program. She conducts recruitment travel and assists with many outreach projects. Stephanie also coordinates all placement testing for UCB applicants.
Kathryn Kevit, Assistant Director of Enrollment Services - 207/262-7804, kevit@maine.edu
Kate is the senior manager of Admissions and Student Enrollment Services at UCB. She coordinates review for the Dental Hygiene program, is the UMA coordinator for the North American Indian Tuition Waiver program, and serves on a number of committees and boards supporting UCB’s outreach efforts. Kate conducts recruitment travel and assists with all UMA outreach efforts in the region.
