Kathy is responsible for the daily operation of the Admissions Office and oversees all recruitment and review processes.  She has a depth of experience in admissions unmatched at UMA.  Kathy also may review applications and works closely with the Maine Community College System in relation to transfer students.  She works closely with other administration offices and faculty in relation to the admissions process.

As a recent graduate of UMA, John enjoys sharing his student experience and knowledge of UMA with prospective students.  In addition to guiding applicants through the admissions process, John reviews applications and engages in Admissions outreach activities throughout Maine.  He is a primary point of contact for the Bachelor of Architecture degree program, and for adult learners interested in  transitioning into or rejoining the college experience.  John works with the Associate Director to meet the admissions needs of international applicants and to coordinate the international admissions process. He also helps plan and coordinate various campus-based Admissions programs and activities.

Gail is one of the two primary admissions counselors in our Augusta office. She reviews applications and meets with applicants and prospective students.  Gail coordinates various admission functions, as well as the awarding of the Presidential and Osher Scholarships.  She enjoys recruiting at high schools and adult education programs in the area.

Administrative Support Supervisor

Kristen produces all Admissions Statistical Enrollment reports and distributes report data to various UMA offices and Centers. Her 15 years of experience in the Admissions Office make her a valuable resource for answering admissions questions presented by students in person and by phone. As the Administrative Support Supervisor, Kristen supervises classified employees and hires and supervises work study and volunteer students. She also processes all admission deferrals, reactivations and withdrawal requests.In addition she processes acceptance packages to newly matriculated students. Kristen also handles many administrative functions and duties including purchase orders and invoices.

Jim is a UMA alum and the newest Admissions Counselor in our Augusta Office.  He reviews applications, assists prospective students with the application process and represents UMA at a wide range of events in the local community.  As a veteran, Jim is our primary point of contact for prospective veteran students, military personnel, and their dependens who want to learn more about UMA's nationally-recognized veterans services.  He is also the Admissions representative for UMA's new Aviation program, and is the Program Coordinator for UMA's Summer Scholar Program for high school students, YoUMA.

Joan is the primary receptionist and processor for the Admissions & Student Enrollment Services office at UMA Bangor.  She handles a wide range of duties supporting student applications, bills, and financial aid needs.

Peggy shares the responsibilities of the front desk with Joan, assisting students by phone or in person with questions about admissions, billing, and financial aid paperwork. She is our primary document imaging person, and assists with the administrative operation of the office.

Nicole is an Admissions Counselor at UMA Bangor. She reviews applications, meets with applicants and prospective students, and assists with questions during all stages of the admission process.  Nicole coordinates application review for the Veterinary Technology program.  She conducts recruitment travel to area high schools, college fairs, and adult education centers to share her knowledge of UMA. Nicole is also invested in the UMA Bangor learning community as a part-time adjunct faculty member, occasionally teaching communications classes.

Kate is the senior manager of Admissions and Enrollment Services at UMA Bangor.  She coordinates the Bangor student Admissions Ambassador program, as well as the review for the Dental Health programs. Kate is the UMA coordinator for the North American Indian Tuition Waiver program, and serves on a number of committees and boards supporting UMA Bangor's outreach efforts.  Kate conducts recruitment travel and assists with all UMA outreach efforts in the region.
