"There's no better feeling than when you're presenting a project you've developed and your peers and professors are really experiencing your ideas and design."

"Personal attention is the number one reason I would recommend the UMA architecture program to anyone. The professors take the time and effort to understand you as a person and help you develop your own strengths while giving you the education and opportunities you need to enter the professional world."

"The Architecture Program at the University or Maine in Augusta is a one-of-a-kind experience. The class sizes are small but the discussions of building form, function, space, scale and light are monumental. The lessons learned provide not only a great foundation to build a professional career upon, but also give the student an in depth understanding of the importance of the structures in which we inhabit."

"When I first started to think about going back to school for architecture, I thought that it would mean relocating to Boston. I was delighted to discover the architecture program at UMA. I started off with just one class, but soon realized that I had found just what I was looking for: a design based architecture program with excellent teachers who are not just proficient at what they do, but excited about what they are teaching and about the success of their students.
Although small, the program is staying on top of what is new and current in the world of architecture. From getting students involved locally (my class worked in groups to develop schematic designs for the Hallowell waterfront which we presented to a packed house in the city hall), to keeping up with the quickly developing field of sustainability, the UMA architecture program covered all the bases.
My degree in architecture has given me a new way to see the world. From understanding the complete lifecycle (“cradle to grave”) of a building material, to understanding the effects of space, scale, light and sound (designed or natural) on the human brain, my way of seeing and thinking of design has opened my eyes to new possibilities. UMA has left me with a feeling of optimism for my future and the future of our planet.
Thank you UMA!"
