Depending upon the capability of the Internet backbone at the research facility, we hope to upload short video clips on a daily basis beginning July 15, 2001. The clips will be 30 to 60 seconds in length.

You may need to install the Quicktime plug-in for your browser in order to view the clips. The video wil not run on Windows Media Player. Please take the time to load Quicktime 5. It takes about 20 minutes. After installing the plug-in you will need to restart your computer and relaunch your browser, so you should first Bookmark this page now.

To see if you have the plug-in already installed click on the OHCHS LOGO link below. If you have the plug-in, the video will begin downloading. If you don't have it you will be prompted to download the plug-in from http://www.apple.com/quicktime. After viewing the video in Netscape, use your browser's BACK button to return to this page. In Explorer simply close the video window.

The video will begin streaming as soon as enough information has been downloaded to your computer. The wait time you experience is dependent upon the speed at which you are connected to the Internet, but with a 56k dial-up modem the wait for a 45 second clip should be no more than 5 or 6 minutes. The significant time lag is due in part to our plan to use 360 x 240 movies. The smaller 180 x 120 would download faster, but the image quality would suffer.
