Students can now complete their architectural education without leaving the state of Maine, almost.

Graduates of the BA in Architecture program often go on to get their professional Master's degree at one of the many programs throughout the US. The Boston Architectural College (The BAC) is one such school that has signed a formal transfer agreement with UMA offering our graduates acceptance, usually with high advanced standing.

In response to the need of our Maine students, and others from around the United States, the Boston Architectural College has created the first and only Distance Masters of Architecture program in the country.  The program requires the accepted student to be on the BAC campus only 8 days per semester, with the rest of work done online from anywhere in the U.S.

The Master's program is open for application from students holding an undergraduate BA or BS in Architecture from an accredited institution, and a minimum of one year professional experience under the supervision of a licensed architect. For further information on the program's application requirements, please contact the Boston Architectural College directly.

Starting in the fall of 2013, UMA/ARC will offer the only Bachelor of Architecture degree in Maine, and the only public 5-year degree north of New York City.  Housed in UMA’s Handley Hall on the Kennebec River in downtown Augusta, our program is built upon UMA’s 25 years of experience in architectural education and continues our traditional focus on design.
