Policies:
Use of Laptop Computers:
UMA students, faculty and staff will be allowed to sign out laptop computers for 3 hours. You must present a valid UMA photo ID card in order to check out laptops.
You are entirely responsible for the computer while you have it, including theft or damage. Each laptop costs over $1,600 so please treat with extreme care. If the equipment is damaged while checked out to you, you may be billed for its repair or replacement. Katz Library has the right to determine whether damage was due to accident, abuse, or intentional misuse – each case will be determined individually. If equipment is stolen while in your possession, you will be billed for the replacement cost.
Disclaimer: The patron uses the laptop at his/her own risk. The Bennett D. Katz is not responsible for patron ergonomic misuse that would aggravate or cause a repetitive stress injury.
Equipment Check-out:
Patrons must have a valid UMA photo ID card to use Media Services equipment. Preference for equipment use is given to course-related requests.
Duplicating Media Services materials is not permitted.
Outside groups:
Non-university groups who rent or use the rooms on the UMA campus must provide their own audiovisual equipment. All such groups will be referred to an audiovisual service provider.
