The Maine Sports Commission

Raging Tide Internship Program

The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England (FCBL) is looking to provide internship opportunities for the summer season (May-August).  FCBL is a summer collegiate baseball league with eight teams located throughout New England. Summer Internship - American Lung Association, Augusta.

Local Maine non-profit now accepting applications for unpaid Special Events Internships. Interns will assist in all levels of planning numerous special events, including fundraising opportunities surrounding the Golf Privilege Card and the annual Trek Across Maine. Intern will report directly to the Development Manager.  Internship will have a flexible schedule so as not to conflict with individual’s school schedule. Candidates should be available to work a minimum of 8-20 hours per week and available for events that occur during that time period.

Charlotte White Center, Dover-Foxcroft, ME.  Accounting Internship. General accounting including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. Paid.

Maine's Juvenile Justice Advisory Group (JJAG)  seeks an intern to work with us to better inform the public and practitioners of our work. While we may be most interested in a student who is studying communications or public relations/marketing; students with the requested skills from other disciplines would also be appreciated. Good writing and computer skills are very important.

Projects to be developed include a Downtown Employee Newsletter, a yearly calendar of standard events being held downtown, developing a system for communication of downtown events out to the public and local businesses.  Developing marketing to residents will be priority. ..

Internship Opportunity with Primerica Financial Services

We are looking for bright, self-motivated students to become a financial representative intern.  Our two tier internship program not only allows our interns the opportunity to be exposed to the financial industry, but through our program they will gain practical experience and knowledge in all areas of business;  Including but not limited to marketing, networking, prospecting, client services, research and planning.    

Tier I:  Consists of working with a field trainer learning to conduct an in depth interview with families to create customized Financial Needs Analysis, utilizing the latest technology to suggest the right solutions appropriate to the client’s needs and financial goals.  Time commitment: 4-6 hours per week.

Paid Internships for Study Abroad Students in Australia

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad has been exclusively offering a unique and specialized business and management study abroad program in Sydney, Australia for a number of years, at the International College of Management Sydney (ICMS).   This program specializes in Business and Management-related areas plus Hospitality Management, International Tourism, Event Management, Retail Marketing, Sport Management and Property Services/Real Estate.  ICMS is now offering both partially paid as well as unpaid internships to study abroad students starting in 2013.   The paid internships are available to students who are studying Business, Hospitality, Tourism or Event Planning-Management, and are part of a two-term study abroad program.   Students would take all courses during the first term, and the second term would be a full-time partially-paid internship at a Sydney-area company encompassing 600 hours of work experience.  In order to qualify, students must have previous work or internship experience in their field, and must study abroad for two semesters.

Business Operations Assistant  Workplace Health, a department of MaineGeneral Medical Center providing occupational health & wellness services to employers throughout the greater Kennebec Valley. Intern for UMA's Office of Institutional Research and Planning  The internship content and scope will be similar to the work performed by a junior analyst. The internship will involve students in project planning and management, data collection and analysis, and client presentation and counsel of final work-products. This professional development opportunity will provide the necessary skills and experiences needed to enter the workforce as a research or data analyst in business, government or education. A strong interest in research and an ability to crunch numbers is a must. The internship is highly interdisciplinary and individualized to the interests of the student and may involve student surveys, statistical analyses or data programming.

We are currently seeking a Consumer Finance Sales Representative in Augusta, ME.  As a member of our team, you will: Consult with customers about their financial and personal objectives and offer loan solutions to help them achieve their goals. Build strong, trusting relationships with new and existing customers. Provide exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction and a continued relationship with OneMain Financial. Job duties and requirements vary based on position.

Water Policy Intern – Future Forecasting and others in Boston at the Mass. Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. The intern will research current water needs, help project future demand, analyze differences between current use and future projections, and consider the impact regulatory changes may have in such new demand scenarios.  Other projects the student will assist with include water pricing research and the promotion of water innovation in Massachusetts.
