The UMA Community Garden needs you!

The Community Garden grows organic vegetables for the Augusta Food Bank. When the growing season begins we will be looking for volunteers to spend 2-5 hours a month in the garden. In the mean time, we are looking for volunteers to help us find donations. If you have the item to donate, have an idea on where to ask or want to get involved with fundraising please contact Valerie Marsh at 621-3158. Our donation needs include:
-Lumber for raised beds (4 x4, untreated)
-Straw bales
-Compost
-Manure
-Scale
-Sand
-Hand tiller
-Landscape fabric
-Drip tape and connectors
-Trellis materials
-Seeds and seedlings
Student Activism at the Hall of Flags
The Office of Civic Engagment will be hosting an event at the Hall of Flags in the Maine State House on April 18th, 2013 from 10:00am- 2:00pm. Come see student presentations on the alleviation of social or enviornmental issues. Light refreshments will be provided.
