Common Data Set
The Common Data Set (CDS) is a collaboration between higher education data providers and college guide publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report.
Through the use of a set of standards and data definitions, the combined objective of this collaboration is to improve information quality and accuracy for prospective students and data reporting burden by all information providers. The Common Data Set is reviewed annually by the CDS Advisory Board and secondary and post-secondary institutions.
