Capital Area Economic Development Union (CAP-EDU)
History and Purpose of CAP-EDU: In late 2011, CAP-EDU was established by UMA, with the active participation of the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce and four area legislators.
The purpose of CAP-EDU is to provide a regular forum for local dialogue and communication on issues of economic development in the Capital Region area, and specifically how higher ed, businesses, and legislators can be working together to promote economic development.
Composition of EDU: The composition of the CAP-EDU will be informal and open.
Frequency and location of meetings: The EDU will meet 4-8 times per year. UMA will host meetings on its campus.
