A workshop approach designed to help students develop the basic skills they need for writing coherent expository prose. Students will learn how to edit their own papers as they are led systematically through all stages of composition, prewriting, writing, rewriting. This course is prerequisite to ENG 101, but may be waived by any student who achieves sufficiently high scores on the UMA Placement Test or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Minimum grade of C required. Credits for this course do not fulfill degree requirements.
