Financial Aid Dates to Remember

January 1

The financial aid application process for the 2007-2008 academic year begins January 1, 2007. All students are encouraged to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form as soon as possible after January 1 to have the results of their application for financial aid in March.

Once the student's FAFSA form is processed, the student will receive a Student Aid Report by mail which indicates a level of financial aid need. UMA will receive an electronic copy of the student's report if the student listed UMA as a college to receive the data. UMA's Code Number is 006760 and this number should be included in the FAFSA application.

March 1

Students should submit their FAFSA form and have the results sent to UMA no later than March 1 so that they can be considered for an award while all types of funds are still available.

Applying After the UMA Priority Filing Date

Students can and should apply for financial aid even if they missed the UMA priority filing date because they may still qualify for any remaining grants and/or student loans.
