A Blueprint for Education Reform in Maine

Yellow is Senior Vice President of Bangor Savings Bank and Chair of Maine Coalition for Excellence in Education - working to improve Maine's education system. He was Special Assistant to the Commissioner of Education in Gov. King's admininistration and did much of the planning for the "laptop initiative".

 

Jan Mokros
A Tutorial: Helping Kids in Math & Science

Jan is a developmental psychologist, a mathematics educator and Executive Director of the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance.  She has developed activities, games, and a book for parents to help incorporate engaging math into their everyday family lives.

 

Paul Kando
Homes, Cities, & Sustainable Energy
Sunday, March 4

Paul's expertise is in energy research and development, focused on energy storage and solar energy. He was a member of the team that put a solar water heating system in the White House for Jimmy Carter, managed a solar energy program for the Dept. of Energy, and conducted building energy research here and abroad. In Maine Paul is a co-founder of the Midcoast Green Collaborative where he does home energy audits and homeowner education.
