Fun in French for Kids at UMA

Language—Culture—Heritage—Community

 

NO PRIOR LANGUAGE EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

For children ages 3-10

Songs, puppet shows, and stories in a creative, total-immersion setting

Dates for spring session (Saturdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m.):

February 11th

March 10th (at children’s museum with group discount for admission);

ROBOT VISITS!

March 31st (Michael Parent concert!!!!!)

April 28th

May 19th (crêpe party and potluck lunch)

(all sessions located in the Honors Lounge of the UMA Randall Student Center except March 10th )

 

Materials we will use—identical to Fall 2011 (available for purchase at UMA bookstore):

 

Play and Learn French : Over 50 Fun songs, games and everyday activities to get started in French (Book + Audio CD); ISBN: 0071441514

Michael Parent CD, Chantons—Let’s Sing (This is behind the registrar and you will need to ask for it.)

*These purchases will help your child get the full benefit of the program.*

Expectations:

  • parent/grandparent/caregiver must be present during the class and encourage the child’s participation (you may enjoy learning or reawakening your French alongside your child!)
  • a fee of $25 per child is due at time of enrollment (each additional sibling $15): all proceeds will cover program costs and support cultural activities in French at UMA
