As you know, the H1N1 flu virus has spread rapidly throughout the state of Maine. As a result, please be aware of the following:
I regret to report that the H1N1 vaccine clinics that UMA had intended to deliver in December will not happen. We have been informed that the vaccine necessary for the clinics will not be available. Currently, our best hope is to deliver H1N1 clinics in January. Stay tuned for updates.
So that the university may respond appropriately, please remember to report your absence due to an ILI (Influenza-like Illness), whether due to your own illness or that of someone for whom you must care. FMI: http://www.uma.edu/h1n1com5.html
If you have not yet gotten your seasonal flu shot, we strongly encourage you to do so. Please check with your local community resources regarding availability.
Since many of you are taking care of those sick with the flu, here are some tips to keep you healthy: http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/guidance_homecare.htm
Please have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and stay healthy!
