Hearts-for-HaitiHearts for Haiti Benefit Concert Featuring Local Musicians at UMA on Feb. 15th

The Biology Program at the University of Maine at Augusta is sponsoring the “Hearts for Haiti Benefit Concert" on Saturday, February. 15th at 3:30 PM in Jewett Hall Auditorium.

The concert features local musicians Ed Desjardins, Jeff Fairfield, Jesse Feinberg, Mike Ladd & Kristina Stewart, John Twitchell and Friends. All proceeds will benefit the volunteer efforts of the UMA Biology students of Team Haiti 2014 on their trip to Haiti this spring. There is a suggested donation of $5 for adult and $3 for children.

Over April break UMA Biology majors will travel to Haiti as part of a capstone course in global health. The students will volunteer at a health center for malnourished children, assist at a health clinic, and provide fun educational programs for children in the mountain village of Casale, Haiti. UMA Biology program coordinator, by Susan Baker, leads the trip.
