Hip-Hop Artist, Be Steadwell to perform at UMA Bangor on October 29th.

SteadwellHip Hop musician; Be Steadwell will perform Queer B Girl, a hip-hop concert about art, culture, and politics on the UMA Bangor campus Tuesday, October 29th in Eastport Hall room 124 at 6:00 PM.

Steadwell’s hip-hop performance will feature an original music style, which utilizes vocal layering, elaborate harmonies, and beat boxing.

A singer, songwriter and filmmaker from Washington DC, Steadwell describes her music as, "queer pop and soul”. She is currently completing her MFA in film from Howard University, recording her third self-produced album, facilitating workshops, and touring internationally. Sponsored by a Presidential Mini-Grant and UMA’s Women’s Gender and Sexuality studies and American studies programs, this will be the first of two Hip Hop events that will take place on the UMA Bangor campus, the other event is on 11/12/13 and will feature Maine Hip Hop artists. Both the concerts are free and open to the public.
