| Title: | Lunch 'n Learn: The Roots of Hate |
| Date: | Wednesday, March 13th 12:00pm - 1:00pm |
| Location: | Klahr Center, Augusta Campus |
| Description: | The Southern Poverty Law Center reports that since 2000, the number of hate groups in the US has risen by 69%. The rise is fueled, they say, “by anger and fear over the nation’s ailing economy, an influx of non-white immigrants, and the diminishing white majority, as symbolized by the election of the nation’s first African-American president.” This program will examine the roots of hate in America and relate it to occasions in history when extreme hatred grew to such a point that it led to instances of genocide.
