Educational Background

  • B.A., University of Maine, 1959
  • M.A., Washington State University, 1966
  • Ph.D., University of Idaho, 1971
My greatest teaching reward is to assist students’ learning and to encourage their pursuit of excellence by developing in them analytical skills with which they can think critically, creatively and conceptually about many worldly topics. The output of good papers or a graduation exercise is good. The outcome of knowledge, jobs or other personal satisfactions is better. Best, however, is the impact that each one can have upon others and upon the world. A dynamic classroom and personal interaction are central to my effort.
