The libraries of The University of Maine at Augusta support and enrich the education and research of UMA students, faculty, and staff by providing access to and instruction in the use of library resources. UMA's libraries in Augusta and Bangor support academic instruction at all levels and provide consultation in the use of information in today's knowledge-based society. UMA libraries also share information resources with users external to the UMA libraries. As part of the process of preparing students for the future, the UMA libraries also provide administrative and academic leadership for the AS and BS Library and Information Technology degrees offered globally by UMA.
