Plunkett Maine Writers Collection

Established in October 1999, the Plunkett Collection consists of books and videos by and about Maine authors. The primary focus of the Plunkett Collection is contemporary Maine fiction and poetry. It honors Terry Plunkett's accomplishments as teacher, poet, scholar, novelist, editor, and mentor.

Terry was a Professor of English at The University of Maine at Augusta from 1969-1998. Additional services to the University included editing "The Kennebec: A Portfolio of Maine Writing" and serving as Acting Dean of Academic Affairs from 1980-1981. He was named Professor Emeritus of English in 1998. He passed away in 1998, leaving behind many caring friends and family.

The Plunkett Collection is housed on special shelving in the Katz Library and, excepting a few rare items and videos, is available for checkout by UMA students, faculty, staff and community. The materials in the Plunkett Collection may be searched using the library's online catalog, URSUS. Donations to this collection are greatly appreciated.
