New Course: ANT 489 Oral History
Topics in Anthropology 489: Oral History, Methods and Practices. This course explores the methods used in exploring history through recorded interviews, exploring attitude and perspectives on events and historical change. The course will train students to plan an oral history project, conduct interviews and present the information gathered.

French Conversation Table
Students and community members meet once a month to share tea, snacks, and conversation...in French! This year, we will devote the first fifteen minutes to beginners, so don't be afraid to jump in where you are! We will meet on the second Thursday of the month from 3-4 p.m. in Jewett 289. Last date this semester is Dec. 12.

Free Bowling Tonight in Bangor!
6:30-8:30PM on Wednesday, November 20 at Family Fun Lanes (15 Hildreth St, Bangor, ME 04401). The Office of Student Life is sponsoring a bowling night! Shoe rental is free for all, students bowl for free, and guests bowl for $2.50 a game. Join us anytime during the two hours for as many games you can "spare!"

Travel to Democracy with OCE
On Nov. 20th & Nov. 21st, the Office of Civic Engagement will take students to two different municipal meetings in and near Augusta to observe democracy in action. What is the difference between the issues faced by a city as compared to a small town? How do elected officials make decisions for the people they represent? Meet in the lobby of Randall Student Center at 5:00pm on 11/20 for a trip to Pittston and at 5:45pm on 11/21 for a trip to Augusta City Hall. Join us as we travel to democracy.

Thursday, November 21 from 6-8PM at Great Skates (82 Sylvan Rd, Bangor, ME 04401), strap on some skates and enjoy a night of fun! Native American History Movie in Bangor

Augusta area lawmakers to host health insurance forum - Morning Sentinel
The forum Wednesday night at the University of Maine at Augusta will give members of the public a chance to ask experts about the law.

COLLEGE ROUNDUP: Lola sets 2 UMA records - Kennebec Journal
Lola set a UMA women's record for most points in a game as well as most 3-pointers with eight. She also grabbed nine rebounds and had four assists. Teammate Arreonte Lee scored 28 points and hauled in 21 rebounds. Courtney Jicks added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Moose while Richmond graduate Jamie Plummer scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
