Advanced Standing into the University of Southern Maine

Masters Degree in Public Policy and Management

UMA Public Administration graduates who want to continue their educational preparation for careers in public and not-for-profit administration can take advantage of an agreement between UMA and the University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School of Public Service.  If you graduate from the UMA program with a 3.0 GPA (in Public Administration and overall), and meet the USM admission criteria, then you can waive PPM 610 Foundations of Public Policy and Management (3 credits), PPM 615 Foundations of Public Service and Management (3 credits).  This cuts the number of credit hours needed for graduation from 39 to 33, reducing costs and the time needed to complete the masters degree.

The USM classes are available in Augusta, Portland, online and via live video feed from a variety of locations.
