
Nursing Resource Laboratory Associate
The University of Maine at Augusta has an opening for a Nursing Resource Laboratory Associate. This employee is responsible for activities which support the laboratory learning experiences of students in the Nursing Education Program; facilitating laboratory experiences in the open lab; assisting with the math testing process; and maintaining the functioning of the laboratory. Salary: The salary for this nine-month, twenty-five hours-per-week appointment is $17,550. The University offers an excellent pro-rated fringe benefits package including health insurance, life insurance, paid holiday, vacation, and sick days, and tuition waiver benefits.
Qualifications: Requirements: BSN; an active RN license in the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure; computer competency; ability to work well with others and manage multiple projects; excellent communication and organizational skills; at least one year of clinical experience.

Nursing Learning Resources Laboratory Associate
COLLEGE/DIVISION:
College of Math and Professional Studies
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to the Coordinator of Nursing
- Coordinates with Faculty in the Nursing Education Program
- Supervises student employees as needed
STATEMENT OF THE JOB:
The Nursing Learning Resources Laboratory Associate is responsible for activities which support the laboratory learning experiences of students in the Nursing Education Program. He/She is responsible for facilitating laboratory experiences in the open lab; assisting with the math testing process, and maintaining the functioning of the laboratory.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Major Duties:
- Assists with the support of student learning in the laboratory setting.
- Coordinates with the Instructor of Nursing Laboratory to set up weekly instructional labs.
- Supports the math testing process by administering math tests and tutoring students with medication calculations.
- Supports the math testing process in distant locations by distribution of materials to distant sites and tutoring as needed.
- Assists with lab referrals by evaluating student skill perfonnance.
- Manages and coordinates the implementation and development of Sim Man and simulated learning experiences in the Nursing Education Program.
- Maintains the organization of the nursing lab and equipment
- Coordinates with the Instructor of the Nursing Lab to maintain the inventory
and order supplies and equipment. - Provides support to the distant nursing program labs by maintaining, organizing and distributing equipment to distant sites.
- Communicates with Coordinator of Nursing regarding nursing laboratory needs.
Secondary Duties:
- Performs other related duties as requested by Coordinator of Nursing and/or Nursing Faculty
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicates with Coordinator of Nursing in the ordering of equipment for the nursing laboratory
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Occasionally supervises student employees
PUBLIC AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
- Continues to develop professionally by participating in workshops and conferences
- Participates in public service activities as appropriate
- Participates in UMA community activities/committees as appropriate
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- An active RN license in the State of Maine or eligibility for Me Licensure
- Computer competency
- Ability to work well with others
- Excellent communication skills
- Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- At least one year clinical experience
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a nursing laboratory in an educational environment
- Experience in nursing education
