POS 223 Principles of Management
(This course is cross-listed with JUS 223 and POS 223) A comprehensive study of management in public and private sectors. The influence of human, social and political factors is integrated with treatment of managers structural and technical processes. Analyses focus on such theories as planning, controlling, decision making, organizational design, administrative skills, communications and information systems. It is recommended that ENG 101 be taken prior to or concurrently with this course.

POS 362 Labor-Management Relations
(This course is cross listed with BUA 362.) The labor-management systems of the private and public sectors are surveyed from the interdisciplinary perspective of modern industrial relations by analyzing three aspects. The nature and characteristics of labor-management relation are considered from such perspectives as the structural, historical, international, legal, psychological, and economic. Contract administration process and such issues as wages, economic supplements, institutional rights, and administrative rules. The two aspects are applied in a simulated collective bargaining exercise. Designed for students interested in labor-management relations in business, educational engineering, food service, government, health service, and social welfare organizations.
