UMA Nursing Completion Program receives 5-year accreditation

The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) granted full accreditation to the University of Maine at Augusta’s Bachelor of Science, Nursing Completion Program (RN-BSN) during their March meeting.

Among the program’s strengths, noted during the process, were support and resources for hybrid and online courses. UMA’s RN-BSN program is designed to accommodate the schedule of working registered nurses who wish to earn a baccalaureate degree in nursing.

ACEN candidacy and accreditation is based on faculty academic and experiential qualifications, curriculum/program plan of study, resources to deliver the program, and the program’s systematic plan of evaluation. The ACEN has scheduled the next evaluation visit for Fall 2018.
