umacubaCuba: Cultural Understanding Between the Arts
Art, Cuban Art/Achitectural History, Literature, and Culture of Latin America, with a focus on Cuba.

This 9 credit integrated course module to be offered in the Spring 2014, gives students an opportunity to study three disciplines, each with a lens on the theme of CUBA and Latin America. We will use Cuba as a case study, integrating art, Cuban Art/Architectural History, literature, and culture with a ten day immersion in Havana, Trinidad and Cienfuegos.

Students and faculty in the course will travel to Cuba during our March break for a unique opportunity to put theory into practice. There, we will document our journey visually and verbally, as well as live in the culture as a community.

The deadline to apply is November 1, 2013 at 5:00pm.

There will be four informational pizza lunch sessions featuring faculty from the courses, student alumni who have done UMA travel courses, and UMA financial aid representatives.  The info sessions will be held at UMA's Richard Randall Student Center, Room 137 from Noon to 1pm on the following dates:

Thurs, October 10th
Fri, October 18th
Tues, October 22nd
Mon, October 28th
