Disclaimer: The University of Maine at Augusta's Student Handbook serves as a general reference guide regarding UMA's policies, procedures, and services. | Welcome to the University of Maine at Augusta! It is indeed a pleasure for me to welcome you to the University of Maine at Augusta. I am confident that through your efforts the time spent here will be meaningful to you both academically and socially. Whether you are a first-time student or are returning to the University for further study, this handbook has been designed to provide you with the most up-to-date information regarding policies, procedures, activities, and services which apply to you as a member of our student body. The attempt has been made to provide answers to those questions most commonly asked by students. Understandably, no handbook can pretend to answer all questions that may arise during the course of a year. For this reason, I encourage you to contact Kathy Dexter, Dean of Students, or other staff members for any assistance you may need. At UMA, channels of communication between students, faculty, and staff have always been open. This is not through coincidence or luck, but rather because both students and staff have made individual efforts to produce this result. I look to you as a student to do your share to make this a better educational institution when you leave than it was when you first entered. Please accept my best wishes for a successful experience. Cordially, |
