soupUMA’s Women in Curriculum and Women's Studies students will hold the Annual Soup & Substance event in room 124 of Eastport Hall from 12:00 - 1:00pm on Thursday, March 28th.

Soup & Substance is a UMA Women’s Studies tradition that brings awareness to women, children, and men, in our communities and around the world who survive on very little.

A vegetarian soup and bread will be provided as well as an opportunity to learn about women in Maine, and around the world. Students in UMA’s introduction to Women's Studies class will display their projects, non-profit community organizations that serve women will have info tables, and local entrepreneurs will share their business successes.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Sarah Hentges at or 262-7762.
