UMA and UMFK Announce New BSN Collaborative Program

UMA and UMFK have opened admissions to a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Collaborative Program. As the BSN is rapidly becoming the preferred educational credential for Registered Nurses, UMA has combined resources with UMFK to help students earn this credential in the Augusta region.

Program highlights:

  • Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the RN licensure exam.
  • The nursing course sequence is distributed over a four-year cycle. It may be possible to attend part-time while completing the first half of the program if students have prior college credits and/or attend summer semesters.
  • The degree will be awarded by UMFK. Students will matriculate and register through UMA for the first year of the program and will then be transferred to UMFK for the second year (no additional application forms or fees will be required at the time of transfer).
  • This program will not require travel to Fort Kent. Nursing classes will be taught at UMA’s Augusta campus. Clinical placements (3rd and 4th year) will be primarily in the Augusta region.

UMA has previously offered an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); individuals who are already enrolled, or are on the waitlist for UMA’s ASN Program will be able to complete this degree as planned or may choose to move into the BSN option. UMA also offers a Bachelor of Science, Nursing Completion Program (RN-BSN).
