The Cornerstone program is a federally funded program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education that helps eligible students earn their college degree. This program is located in room 204 Belfast Hall on the Bangor campus and in room 195 Jewett Hall on the Augusta campus. The Cornerstone staff members select students with academic potential to join this program even though they may have some academic, career, financial, or other limitations that might impact their ability to succeed in college. Through academic, counseling, financial, or career planning support, students who are enrolled in Cornerstone enjoy a very high success rate, especially if they participate fully in the program. Cornerstone is free of charge.
