Objective 1.1.2 Strategies and Benchmarks
1.1.2 Academic writing will be fully integrated and consistently assessed throughout the curriculum. Every program will require students to pass a discipline-specific 2XX, 3XX, and 4XX course with a strong writing component in their major annually.
This process will begin with the approval of the outcomes by the Faculty Senate in the spring of '07. In conjunction with the discussions on integrating core skills within program curricula, program coordinators will develop courses with this strong writing component on a program by program basis beginning in the fall of '07.
The benchmark for this objective will be the development of these courses by program faculty.
