Objective 1.5.5 Strategies and Benchmarks

1.5.5   The DLC will advocate for and support the development of hybrid courses and other innovative delivery options to offer greater educational access to distance learners.

The DLC will study hybrid options and advocate for support and incentives for faculty to consider and develop hybrid courses beginning in FY '08.  By fall 2008, the DLC in collaboration with faculty and Provost's staff will have defined parameters for what constitutes a hybrid and the approval process by which they may be offered.  In spring '09 faculty will offer a limited set of hybrid courses, which will be assessed for their effectiveness during the early summer of '09.  In fall '09 (pending positive results of the assessment), the offering of hybrid courses will be a regular option for teaching UMA courses.
