3.1.2 In conjunction with the President's Staff, the Advising Committee will establish a functional definition of retention consistent with UMA's mission.
The Advising Steering Committee will submit a draft UMA definition of retention to the Provost by November 1, 2007. Once approved, a 5-year historical report will be generated using the new definition to establish a baseline for comparison with peer institutions (as feasible) and to inform future campus retention goals. The Advising Committee will use this new definition of retention for goal setting in its May 2009 report and to monitor future progress on retention.
