Objective 3.3.5 Strategies and Benchmarks

3.3.5 To build a more cohesive community of learners, faculty and staff will create new and innovative methods of communicating with students using technology.

During FY '08 Student Life will assess the effectiveness of the new Moosebytes student bulletin and recommend improvements. From FY '07 forward, UMA will continue to evolve a dynamic, attractive and more highly interactive web presence. By FY '09 the College Success Program Coordinator will work with faculty and other advising staff to create online forums for each academic program. By fall of '08 the Dean of Student and Vice President for Administration will recommend a mass broadcast phone service for use by UMA in cases of emergencies. By spring of 2009 most official university communications will occur in electronic format. As appropriate and interests dictate, employees will create and administer theme or interest-based electronic forums for students.
