Objective 3.3.6 Strategies and Benchmarks

3.3.6 The Division of Student Development will use technology, along with the strategic location and scheduling of services, to improve student access to support services.

Strategies to achieve this objective include:

  • During FY '08 the Vice President for Administration will work with department managers on both campuses to create campus organizational plans that ensure the highest visibility and ease of access for students to all direct student services. The plan will be implemented in FY'08 – FY '11.
  • In spring of '07 new evening staff on the Augusta campus will be added at the centrally located Student Technology Center by creating a new, cross-trained and cross-function position that will serve as the evening campus receptionist, provide general advising information, assist students in accessing security services, and issue ID cards.
  • Student Development Departments will include in their FY '08 annual reports plans to increase the delivery of services via electronic means, e.g., increased participation in the electronic job club, access to local housing information. By fall of '09 Student Development will add to its web pages interactive electronic forms necessary for university-related business transactions, e.g., signing up for a New Student Orientation, registering for a student activity.
