3.4.3 Deans and faculty will identify the essential skills and knowledge required for faculty success in advising and retention efforts and partner with the Advising Steering Committee and Division of Student Development to deliver requisite professional development opportunities
Beginning in FY '07 faculty will serve on the reinvigorated Advising Steering Committee (3.1.1). By May 08, the Advising Steering Committee will use CAS Standards and Guidelines, and NACADA resources to develop an Advising Improvement Plan, including a list of essential skills and knowledge required for advising and retention efforts. By December '08, faculty will complete a self assessment of their personal skill levels and training needs. Survey results will be aggregated and used to create a professional development plan. Components of the professional development plan will be included in the Advising Improvement Plan (May 08) and the Campus Retention Plan (May 09)
