Objective 4.2.2 Strategies and Benchmarks

4.2.2 In consultation with the President's and Provost's staffs, the Office of Public Information will develop a two-year operational plan, which will include standard University publications, dates, and deadlines.

There are a myriad of University publications, and currently the calendar for each publication is determined by the department responsible for its production and distribution.

  • The calendar for course guides is determined by the Office of Finance and Enrollment Management.
  • The calendar for the Catalog is determined by the Provost's Office.
  • The calendar for recruitment materials is determined by the Admissions Office.
  • The calendar for campus newsletters (Moose Print and E-Moose) is determined by the Office of Public Information.

In all cases, however, it is the Office of Public Information that is ultimately responsible for adhering to each calendar and producing the publications on schedule. To facilitate the work of the Office of Public Information and better ensure deadlines are met, beginning in January of 2007, the Office of Public information will create one Master Publications Calendar from the several existing calendars for specific publications.

This Master Publications Calendar will be reviewed on a weekly basis among the Office of Pubic Information staff to ensure that deadlines are being met. In regular consultation with other departments, adjustments will be made to the Master Publications Calendar based on changes in departmental needs and production realities.
