Objective 5.1.4 Strategies and Benchmarks

5.1.4 Administrative Services, in consultation with deans and directors, will create a plan to meet professional development needs for faculty, professional and classified employees.

In FY '08, HR will inventory all development services currently available at UMA.  The inventory will show what the services are, when they are scheduled, where they are scheduled, what their capacity is, and for whom they are intended.  The inventory will then be posted by the end of FY '08 on the school's website within the HR pages. 

Upon completing the inventory, HR will work with President's staff to determine the best method(s) to query faculty, professional and classified staff of their unmet needs.  This inquiry will be completed no later than mid FY '09.  At President's staff responsibility for drafting plans to address the unmet needs will be assigned, and drafted plans will be in place by the start of FY '10.

The President, Provost and Vice President of Administrative Services will make efforts in FY '08 to have their peers at CMCC, KVCC, EMCC, USM, UM, and UMF develop and share similar inventories, which would note capacity and the availability of "seats" for others outside of their institutions to participate.  Assuming collaboration is achieved in building a regional inventory then efforts will be made to continue in that spirit and draft a regional plan for FY '10 to meet our collective needs effectively and efficiently.
