Objective 6.2.2 Strategies and Benchmarks
6.2.2 The UMA Message of the Day and other publications will include announcements of community service opportunities and, as appropriate, highlight University employees' community activities.
The Office of Community Engagement in collaboration with the Board of Visitors Committee on Partnerships and Civic Engagement will develop a plan in FY '08 to identify civic engagement opportunities in Central Maine. A portion of the plan will involve how to notify the UMA community of these opportunities and the establishment and upkeep of an electronic bulletin board for longer term posting of such announcements.
Relative to acknowledging employees' community service, 5.3.1 of the UMA Strategic Plan states that, "In FY '10 President's Staff will initiate the development of a systematic process whereby accomplishments of faculty and staff are gathered on at least an annual basis. The Office of Public Information in conjunction with President's Staff will determine the best vehicles and/or venues for publicly acknowledging these deeds."
