Objective 6.3.2 Strategies and Benchmarks

6.3.2 The University will cooperate with and support the efforts of Women, Work and Community and their partners to promote entrepreneurship development in Maine through entrepreneurship education and training and policy development.

During fall '07, the Dean of the College of Math and Professional Studies will meet with the Director of the Center for Women, Work and Community to evaluate all existing relationships between the College and the Center.  At that meeting an initial exploration of possible new initiatives will be identified, as well as the make-up of an ad hoc committee to explore opportunities in greater depth.  The committee membership will be formulated and charged to identify all current and possible relationship opportunities, strategies and timetables to bring them to fruition, as well as benefits and costs.  An initial report will be drafted and presented to the Provost during spring '08.  Provost's staff will review the report during summer '08, and make recommendations to the Provost on amending the report.

By early fall '08, the Provost will convene a meeting of key stakeholders (based upon the report's and Provost's staff's recommendations) to review all recommendations.  A final report will be completed by the end of calendar year 2008.  In spring '09, as appropriate by the final report, faculty, staff, students and community members will begin implementation procedures.
