Volunteers needed to support our veterinary technical staff at Community Spay-Neuter Clinic. Please call the clinic at 865-0772 to set up a visit. Volunteers are an essential part of the subsidized, high-volume, compassionate spay/neuter services that CSNC provides and, by extension, are an essential part of animal welfare in Maine. The fewer the unwanted animals, the fewer the animals to be mistreated or left in shelters to be euthanized. The clinic is fast-paced and efficient, spaying and/or neutering about 28 animals a day. We work swiftly and collaboratively in a relatively small space. Volunteers assist veterinary technicians, help to prepare surgical packs, help to keep the environment clean and sterile, monitor recovering animals, and/or whatever needs to be done.
