About Dr. Wyke

Rebecca M. Wyke, Ed.D.

Rebecca WykeDr. Rebecca Wyke is the President of the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA). Through its main campus in the state’s capitol, its Bangor campus, eight regional centers and online programs, UMA has a statewide mission serving place-committed learners through on-site and distance education.

Dr. Wyke joined the University of Maine System in 2008 as the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration. Her major focus of work was the long-term financial sustainability of Maine’s Public University System and system-wide reforms of financial and administrative services to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Wyke also serves as adjunct faculty for the Public Administration Program at UMA and has taught for the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine.

Prior to joining the University System, Wyke served for five years in Governor Baldacci’s cabinet as the Commissioner of the Department of Administrative and Financial Services. Wyke also served in the administration of three Maine Secretaries of State, serving as the Chief Deputy Secretary of State for eight years.

Wyke is a member of the Dead River Company Board of Directors and serves on the Finance & Acquisitions and Risk Management Committees. Wyke is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Augusta Board of Trade.

Wyke received her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Maine.

The President’s Office is located in the Alumni Center on the Augusta campus.
