Bio

Bobbi McCarthy has been a nurse since 1992 with a wide range of experience including med-surg, home-care, hospice, interventional radiology, ER and teaching. She teaches Caring Concepts, Adult Mental Health, and Pharmacology for Nurses; as well as other courses as they arise. She also manages the Simulation Lab where she assists students through simulated patient experiences for all nursing levels.

Her teaching focus is to support student learning in a safe environment that fosters both the art and science of nursing. Her teaching style is a kinesthetic approach that encourages inquiry and brings evidence-based practice to life. Classes are hands-on and exciting as students use multiple resources to enrich the material taught that enables “clinical” to come alive in each class.

McCarthy resides in Rome, Maine with her husband. Her adult children and their families live nearby and she keeps busy with her 5 grandsons. Photography, writing, art, yoga, and gardening are activities she uses for self-care.
