Bio

Kelby Myers, DVM is a Veterinarian and Assisstant Professor for the Veterinary Technology Program at the Bangor Campus. Dr. Myers obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State Univeristy. Before joining UMA, Dr. Myers was a practicing veterinarian and has worked in many aspects of veterinary practice, including, equine referral medicine and critical care, small animal general practice, end-of-life care, international veterinary service and ambulatory large animal practice. She is a Fear Free Certified practitioner and is trained in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and acupuncture. Her background in veterinary medicine brings a diverse knowledge base to the teaching program. Dr. Myers also has a strong interest in improving the wellbeing of the profession and is a Certified Compassion Fatigue Educator. She introduces wellness topics and practices into her courses at UMA. 

Outside of the classroom, Dr. Myers shares a home with her husband and their dachshund. She is an avid gardener, a pretty good cook, a mountain biker, and leads a cold water swimming club in the Bangor area. Her and her husband are either planning or completing long-distance bikepacking adventures around the world.
