Dr. Carey S. Clark joined the nursing profession in 1994. She has a wide-reaching practice background in nursing including the areas of acute medical-surgical, pediatrics, psychiatric, home health, hospice, parish, and private holistic nurse consulting. Dr Clark is a board certified advanced holistic nurse, a registered yoga teacher, and a Reiki master. She is committed to daily self-care practices.
Dr. Clark has taught nursing students across the levels of education since 1997, and was an online student from 2000-2004. She understands the challenges of being an online student from a personal perspective and she strives to be caring and present with students as they learn in this highly technological environment.
Dr. Clark’s research interests have focused on student outcomes related to caring, holistic, and integral approaches to curriculum development. She has also written about the nursing shortage, psychoneuroimmunology and stress management, and partnership social systems as related to nursing education.
Dr. Clark is an American Nurses Advocacy Institute Fellow and the current President of the American Cannabis Nurses Association. She has written about the Oncology Nurses role with supporting cancer patient’s use of cannabis for palliation, and she has presented on this topic to oncology nurses from around the country.
